Texas Tech Football Ring of Honor Welcomes Welker, Tillman, Howard
Three Red Raiders inducted into exclusive club
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Athletics will induct three former football players into the Ring of Honor during a ceremony set for October 21, 2023. The 2023 class includes Wes Welker, Andre Tillman and Thomas Howard. These three outstanding individuals will join 35 other former student-athletes and coaches to receive the prestigious honor.
Player Profiles
Welker, a wide receiver from 1999-2003, is Texas Tech's all-time leading receiver in receptions (254), receiving yards (4,166) and touchdown catches (41). The three-time All-American was named the 2002 Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year as a punt returner.
Tillman, a linebacker from 1996-1999, was twice named an All-American and was the 1999 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. The Butkus Award finalist helped lead the Red Raiders to the 1999 Big 12 North Championship.
Howard, a defensive tackle from 1996-1999, was a two-time All-American and a member of the 2000 Pro Football Hall of Fame College Football All-America Team. The 1999 Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year was a key contributor during Texas Tech's 1999 Big 12 North Championship season.

Their exceptional performances helped elevate the program to new heights, and their impact continues to inspire current and future Red Raiders.
