Clemson's Defense Shuts Down Notre Dame's Passing Attack

Hartman Held in Check

Clemson Tigers' defense dominated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish passing game, allowing just 146 yards through the air.

Quarterback Sam Hartman, who had been averaging over 300 yards per game this season, was held in check by the Tigers' pass rush and secondary. Hartman completed just 14 of 26 passes and was sacked three times.

The Tigers' defense also forced two turnovers, including a key interception in the fourth quarter that sealed the victory. Clemson's defense has now allowed just 11 points per game this season, which ranks among the best in the nation.

Hartman's struggles were a major factor in Notre Dame's offensive struggles. The Fighting Irish were held to just 263 total yards and were unable to sustain any drives.

The win was a big one for Clemson, who improved to 9-0 on the season. The Tigers are now in control of their own destiny in the ACC and are one step closer to reaching the College Football Playoff.
